Daseinsanalytic Understanding of Dream in the Perspective of Analytical Psychology

Abstract
Daseinsanalytic understanding of dream is examined in view of analytical psychology, revolving around the phenomenological method of Daseinsanalysis and dream materials which are psychotherapeutically dealt with by Medard Boss, the Proponent of Dasinsanalytic Psychotherapy.
Phenomenological understanding of dreams consists in seeing the meaning of dream phenomenon itself through disclosure of Beingness of Dasein, without any theoretical assumption. This way of understanding corresponds to the symbolic understanding in analytical psychology in a general sense. The symbolic understanding is also not based on any specific theory in the sense of natural science, as the phenomenological one. It makes us see various aspects and meanings of the given phenomenon.
In the Daseinsanalytic understanding exemplified by dream materials we can find no fundamental differences in meaning between analytical psychology and Daseinsanalysis, although there are differences in expression depending on their different views of world and man. However, the differences in expression may be complementary in appreciating the meaning of the given phenomena.
